RB Recorder
RB Recorder – Record tracks and voice notes to create your own roadbook.
RB Recorder is an Android app designed for route reconnaissance. It records the GPS track and allows you to add voice notes directly during the route, without interrupting the recording.
Once completed, it creates a file that can be imported into RB Editor, where the recordings are displayed on the map, listened to, and transformed into roadbook notes.
It works even without an Internet connection and is suitable for reconnaissance by car, motorcycle, bicycle, or on foot.
Recording a voice note is as simple as tapping the screen: the app automatically records five seconds of audio, which is more than sufficient in most cases.
In compliance with the Highway Code, the device must be used, even by simply tapping it, only when the vehicle is stationary.
How it works
- Start recording your track with "Start"
- Record a voice note with "RECORD" when you encounter a crossroads, a hazard, or an important point.
- When you're finished, save the reconnaissance package.
- The .zip file, with the name you choose, is saved in your device's Downloads folder.
- Transfer the file to the Windows computer where RB Editor is installed.
- Import the package into RB Editor.
- Listen to the recordings on the map and convert them into roadbook notes.

RB Recorder doesn't directly create the roadbook: it collects the track and information during the reconnaissance. Creating and editing notes is completed later in RB Editor.

Application for Android devices (8+) that allows you to record GPS tracks and voice notes during reconnaissance. Import everything into RB Editor to listen to the recordings on the map and create roadbook notes more quickly. Windows PC that allows you to create a complete roadbook from a .gpx file, adding navigation notes along the track.
How to install:
- Download the .zip file to your computer
- Extract everything
- Send the .apk file to your phone
- Choose Open
- Install or update the app
APKs may be marked as "unofficial sources": this is normal, as they are not from Google Play.
You can, however, open them and have them verified by Google when requested.
